I can attest to that theory after a strange experience Friday night.
On my way back to the office from covering the Mentor-Solon football game, I was stopped at a red light on Route 306. The signal for WKNR was interrupted and replaced by the call of a baseball game. After a few seconds, I realized it was a Rockies game, and the announcer was our old friend, Mr. Touch 'Em All Time himself, Jack Corrigan.
Sure enough, some research showed the flagship radio station for the Rockies is KOA in Denver, which also is 850 AM on your radio dial.
Apparently you don't need the internet to pick up the feed. You can pick it up randomly with a car stereo. Who knew?
